Instead of having a thread for every person's character, why don't we just have one? Post your characters here.
Ok, mine... since this seems to be a modern RP setting, I'll make a new character I've been thinking about for a while. If this turns out to be more of a swords and sorcery RPG, I've got a veteran character I'd love to use.
Please note that this character has absolutely no relation to Maynard James Keenan. The only likeness is the name.
Name: Maynard Azril
Age: 21
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 196 lbs.
Weapons, Melee: Longsword
Weapons, Ranged: Desert Eagle .50, Galil Sniper Rifle 7.62mm
Appearance: Maynard is relatively thin. He always wears a black jacket, which resembles something like a short trenchcoat and stretches to his low thigh. He wears a black tee-shirt underneath. His pants and shoes are black as well. Maynard has long, dark brown hair that reaches to about the level of his chin. It's parted in the middle, and is cut evenly, but it is slightly longer in the front than in the back. His face is a bit pale, and he is never seen without his sunglasses, which have thin, silver wire frames and small, rectangular black lenses. He is blind in his left eye.
He carries the scabbard of his longsword on the left side of his belt, stashes his Desert Eagle .50 handgun in his left jacket pocket, and has the strap of his sniper rifle slung over his left shoulder, so that the gun is on his back with the barrel pointing down. He only carries his rifle when he thinks he'll need it. For example, he wouldn't carry it if he's just walking through a city, but he'd bring it along if he knows there will be combat.
Personality: Maynard is cold, skeptical, sometimes even demeaning. He's smarter than you, and he knows it. Although he tends to have poor social skills, he has an affinity for manipulating people and situations to further his own goals. For all of the above and other reasons, he rarely befriends people.
Skills: Maynard is extremely witty, and also very intelligent. He is more dextrous than he is strong, and in battle, he prefers a strategic mix of swordplay and firearms than head-on assault. He is an excellent sniper. He is also a computer expert, and he can hack into just about any system, crack just about any code, or whatever else is needed in a particular situation.

Appearance: Tall and thin, doesn't appear to have a big build. Shaggy dirty blonde hair. Looks to about 21, but has scars all over his face and body. His left eye is brown and always looks tired, but will stare you down. William's right eye is a bright vibrant blue and seems to be full of life. Always scanning around, never seems to focus on anything. He wears a long black trenchcoat that stays just inches off the ground. Black pants and black shirt is what he usually wears. Around his waist is a black leath sword buckle, and hiddle oh his left side by the trechcoat is a black leather sheath where his sword rests.
Personality: William can be loving, but after being alone for a thousand years he tends to be by himself. More of the silent type William will try and stay out of the spot light.
Skills: Go with the sword, magic gem behind his blew eye allows him to do powerful magic. The gem helps him find magic beings.

Magic: In touch with water and ice. Specialty is ice. Can call forth ice elementals. Also is very powerful psi.
Appearence: One of antiquity. His eyes can pierce through even the most protected mind, both magically...and by his appearence. His hands are aged, but smooth. His body is thin, frail in appearence, only because he is dwarfed by his robe. In all truth, his body is in well enough shape to run 5 miles before tiring. His hair is long, down to his mid-back. It is stringy, but silky, a grey that almost glows. His face is well shaven, and wrinkle free, though the eyes sag a bit. A few strands of hair from his bangs cover his face. His ears are tall and pointed, his eyes slightly slanted. Far'dael is clothed in a white robe, with golden embroidery going down where the buttons should be, where the belt should be, and around his collar. His sleeves and the bottom of his robe are embroided in a fine blue material. His gait is one of ambience. He is very agile, and graceful, as if he belongs to the earth. His voice is soft, and reassuring, one of a wise friend. His staff he carries in one hand. In his other, he has 3 rings, one of human make, one of elven make, and one of dwarven make.
Personality: Shrouded in mystery. Most take him to be kind.
Skills: Far'dael is very skilled magically. He has a huge mana supply. However, he is very reluctant to use it, because of the state of the world. *See History* He is also very intelligent, and very wise. He is pretty agile and dexterous, with decent strength, though they are the norm for elves. His hearing is above normal, and his eye-sight superb. He is immortal. Far'dael is also very skilled in the mind. He can read most mortals, and many immortals, minds. He uses his staff only in close fight situations, and then very rarely. His staff is an aid to his magic.
History: Alda Ethuil Far'dael was among the first thousand that wandered the earth, before the sun and the moon were created, when darkness was constant, and the only source of light was the mountain of Eryan, home of Illuvatar. Alda was an odd one. While some of his bretheren seeked power, moving south, and others seeked unity with the gods, going east, Alda went north, to the icey mountains of Ilyanar. He lived there, studying all that he could of the ice. It was then, that Markai came into being, and created the sun, and the moon. In respons, Yavanna created an abundance of life on the earth. Alda took notice of this, and began to roam the earth, studying all that it had to offer. Soon, the first of the great wars began. Alda at first decided to help, and set forth to create an alliance between the humans, the elves, and the dwarves (his friends the ents would not fight this war). To signify their thankfullness for their victory, the leader of each of the three races gave Alda one ring, a ring that would signify eternal peace between Alda and that who the ring belonged to. Alda thanked them, and yet, was apalled by the immense ammount of bloodshed and hatred, so Alda constucted a boat of ice, and set sail into the great void, the ocean. After one hundred years of searching, he found an island, a small island, moderate in temperature. Here Alda lived for 20,000 years, slowly learning, and feeling the movement of the earth. As temperatures changed, and boredom grew, Alda decided that it was time to set sail once again, and see what had happened in the world. To his dismay, he found a world full of humans. Gone were the elves, the dwarves, and his greatest friends, the ents. Alda decided to find out exactly what had happened, and had begun to travel the world, learning about the past, from the few myths that the villagers told. He then lived in hiding, learning the human ways, and yet never shedding his robe, or his staff. The ring of man had lost its power, seeing as how magic in man had died. Alda lived decently, observing the humans, and studying ways to bring back the dwarves, and the elves, and the ents, when a time began that shocked him. This was the modern times...

History: Demon Hunters are dark, shadowy warriors who are shunned by the greater Night Elf society. They made a pact, long ago, to fight against the forces of chaos using its own terrible powers against it. These mysterious warriors ritually blind themselves so that they develop 'spectral sight' that enables them to see demons and undead with greater clarity. They wield demonically charged warblades in battle and even call upon demonic energies to augment their formidable combat skills. Although they are counted as some of the mightiest warriors within the Night Elves' society, the Demon Hunters are always maligned and misunderstood for making their selfless pact with darkness.

Appearance: Slender, yet a lusciously curvetious body, her flesh of a gentle light tan, only a few mere tones from mocha, her eyes a light gray which also carries a hint of pale blue. Her hair cascades down to the small of her back before cleanly cutting off, it’s color identical to that of a ravens’ feather, silken ebony. Her most favored attire would have to be her white PVC. Leatherish in appearance, yet it seems glossed, inspiring a wild wet look to her style. The formations of her outfits often consist of her white pvc ankle length trench coat, a close fitting white pvc tank top, reaching no higher than the top of her belly button, a pair of flared white pvc pants, decorated ravishingly with white gems following the seams, and a pair of white boots, or sandals, depending on the temperature.
Personality: Naturally playful, flirtatious, sometimes cynical, her moods vary, therefore her personality shifts meekly with it, she is humorous, articulate, smart. She prefers to be cautious, yet who wouldn’t be in this city. She usually takes pride in remaining mysterious in a sense, if she can. She has a general distaste for human kind.
Skills: Creative, sadistic at times, vast amounts of knowledge in necromancy and the darker arts, artistic, remotely athletic, enough for her to be able to fend off an attacker and get away.
History: Felix prefers to be distant from other people, the precise reasons why remain hidden, she really doesn’t like to share her background, perhaps a horrific event rattled her once innocent life, or, perhaps she just choose to hate most people.
One thing is perfectly certain; she has always been in awe of any darkly oriented creature. Whether it be lust or obsession, she is drawn to these things. She is kind, though she does her best to hide it, the way she veiws it, anyone who confronts her in a nice manner must want something, or be mocking her. That is just the way people are to her, therefore, she has grown accustom to it.

Appearance: Black trenchcoat which houses a varity of guns and small swords, and a basterd sword on the back.
Blue hair, eye color can change, always seems to wear sunglasses though
pale white skin, no matter how many hours he is outside.
personallity: Two words: Ruthless, Agression. Kenny isn't afraid to kill anyone, if it's that jhooker who knows about your girlfriend, or that mob boss and his fifty thugs, Kenny has enough firepower, and ruthless agression, to take them all out without even thinking back.
Skills: small arms, pistols to SMG's he never misses when in close range.
Has had to use swords long before guns, can can use any bladed weapon except the axe.

Appearance: Big and large has always been his way. From the size of his pants to the size of his gut, most of his things are large. Obe wears a way triple X large T-shirt with a black leather vest along with black leather triple X large pants held up with a black leather belt. He wears leather boots also with white red striped socks. Sometimes he has a red bandana.
Obe has a combination of dark grey and white streaked hair and thick beard. He looks kind of Santa Claus. His eyes are blue.
Personality: Obe City Fataz is a sly guy, so watch yourself around him.
Skills: Once won a pie eating contest at the age of 14.

Appearance: Dante's hair is black and very unkept looking. His eyes have no color, it looks like there's fog inside of his eyeballs, so fro this reason he usually has a black hooded cloak on and takes it off very rarely. Underneath his cloak he wears a black trench-coat. If ever takes off his hood he wears black sunglasses (the light hurts his eyes alot).
Personality: Dante is neither living or dead. Therefore he basically has no personality whatsoever. He is actually the son of a demon, making basically invincible. But as time progressed, Dante couldn't stand seeing poor humans and othe creatures tortured, so he killed his brother. His father heard of this and killed him (what a nice family huh?). But since Dante had done a good dead, he ascended to Heaven, were he was given a chance to hunt down all forms of evil, or suffer in the enternal lake of fire. Well, you know which he chose. So he was given back his immortaliy but only for a time. He was also given much on certain forms of fighting, so he is extremely strong and agile. And he has made a personal commitment to kill his father and all evil.
Skills: Dante is a shapeshifter. One moment he could be the floor you walk on, and the next your mom. But since he has no personality, he has no friends, which leaves him with many enemies. Dante is smart...VERY smart. He can stop any point in time, and can also travel back to the past. Dante is not a creature to be taken likely.

Appearance: Concept has no true appearance whatsoever, existing only as the enforcer of a rogue guild of mages (the Guild of the Wild Mushroom). A being physically manifested only by the mages' sheer power of will, Concept has no definite substance, and its body is only vaguely noticeable on the visual wavelengths of the spectrum as a ghostly humanoid form that ranges from blue to red dependent the way it is attracted to various stimuli.
Personality: As more or less an astral weapon of sorts (given the rudiments of a sentient being), Concept's actions are consistently in-kind reactions to whatever creatures it meets, from hostile to benevolent, with the exception of explicit enemies of the Mages themselves, in the which case the mages take complete control for the attack.
Skills: Concept has the unique ability to absord any form of magickal energy from a very short distance to the target, as well as drain life force in unmagical life-forms as well by the same means, making melee combat impossible without special wards and equipment. However, since any conscious movement involves a refocusing of the mages' collective thoughts, it may be possible to flee from it before its orders are fully processed. Also, its magicks, while powerful, take an inordinately long amount of time to cast, as they are being cast from a remote location and then translocated to the area or person Concept is considering assaulting, making it possible for either a mage to cast a counterspell from long range, or a bowman to stun the creature with a few arrows into its substanceless body, whereupon a counterspell can be cast upon it more easily. Either way that it is banished, it returns to the mages' halls for recuperation.
History: Concept has been used in a great deal of assassinations, guarding several kingdom-overthrow programs administer by the mages' themselves, and in wiping entire cities off the map by absorbing so many normal peasants that its abilities, absorption range and destructive power rise tenfold or more.

Appearence: a bad-ass motherfucker you DO NOT want to mess with, stocky build, always wears one of his selections of t-shirts with jeans and a gold chain round his next, most of the time he wears his Addidas watch and Hilfiger Glasses, and not forgetting his fucked Nike Trainers, hair with either wax or gel on (looks a muppet without it)
Personality: ask him.....
Skills: Incredible inability to drive, funny if in the right mood, but is never in the right mood, semi decent with computers stereos and car maintenance, has no fear until he realises how stupid something is (normally mid-way though doing it), good shot with most handguns, can catch bullets and stop swords with his hands on demand
