the idea of communism is good, but as shown in russia, china, cuba et al. it just doesnt work. democracy ay have it faults, but the results are far better than communism

I disagree. Do you really believe that life Russia, Poland, Ukraine, etc, has gotten better now that they aren’t communist anymore?

I hope there is another communist revolution in those nations and that they may have good lives again.
I lived in Poland for 7 year while it was communist, things where much much better for most of the population then, than now.

Most of the ills of soviet union were cus of the cold war and its reign, lack of freedem.
I once dreamt of such a perfect communist, but this is impossible, after all, we're still humans, and survival of the fittest is a key idea behind nature (which what capatlism is)Anyway, the communism soviet union was riddled with beraucracy(SP!), which is obviously inefficent, maybe one day a computer could handle it. The world is to complicated these days, i would love to go back to the middle ages (perhaps the only modern thing i would like to see there would be the national health service).
Humans always wanted more, thier never satisfied, if i got a mclaren f1 or whatever, id soon want something else after that, its natural (this partly explains my qoute in my sig).
So back in the medieval ages, i'd only want basic food stuffs' clothes etc just as much as id want that MClaren now, so after 500 years of development, have we really acheived anything?

yes, Europia is right, the USSR wasn't as bad as the west made it out to bei've ordered countless USSR memorbilia off eBay, books, diecasts, models, medals, hats, pens, watches, etc.. and for some reason i love the style its all in, a sorta 'industrial-techno-artsy' kinda thing, i love it, and as for the Soviet military, it was a very well run machine from what i've read, and i highly repect their many mounments to WW2 and the high price they paid for victory over the Nazi invaders, people say that the Soviet citizens didn't want to live there, but then you have to think 'if they didn't want to be there, then why did they fight so amazingly and bravely against a seemingly unstoppable invader' they firmly believed in there way of life and were amazingly patriotic

i dont like communism because i dont think it's fair that lazy people who do nothing leach off of the hard workers and get just as much as the hard workers. Its not too fair to the people who are actually working then.

democracy by definition is "government by the people", communism is a system in which the people collectively own the means of production and distribution, as compared to capitalism which is individual owenrship and control over all that are employed in the means of production and distribution. by definition, communism is democratic while capitalism is autocratic.

An ideal Communist government wouldn't actually take away your father's company, simply employ him as a member of the government in which his company's earnings go to the government and he gets a regular salary, thereby not being affected (or at least not as much) by things such as small business.
I think that in Communism, Free Enterprise should adopt a sort of franchise mentality.
Private property is something that causes the top 5% controlling 95% of the wealth, at least here in the states.
And if a greedy capitalist has to be shot to achieve utopia, so be it ![[Razz]](tongue.gif) !

The workers are needed to run a business. The boss isn't. They do the bulk of the hard work. The boss gets paid much much more. For some reason we think this is a little wrong. Therefore socialism seeks to eliminate the boss and give the workers control.
Socialism doesn't involve everybody being completely equal (and wearing the same clothes and eating bowls of rice as some idiots think). It is about eliminating the exploitation of man by man. Of course there won't be any billionaires unless everybody is a billionaire but you still get paid according to the work you do. The difference is that in a socialist society work means work.

Under communism - with the ordinary regime of 'daily life' gone - there will be a new golden age where culture will flourish. People are different and when they are free they can express this. Under capitalism we are all the same. Drones doing the same thing, wearing the same clothes, buying the same old goods, work, school, two weeks in the sun - that is how we are all the same. People don't wear grey suits...Nike and Gap are the uniforms of capitalism. Be under no illusion...in our society the word different has been replaced by 'weird'.
