ok, now anyone who knows me will know i love my country, i'm a patriot and that's why it is so hard for me to concede that the England football team is a steaming pile of shit. it has been since the departure of Venables. now i don't know whether a different manager could do better but one thing i know is that Sven Goran Eriksson has proven himself to be fucking useless. so when thinking about who is going to win tonight i look back at the previous England games inrecent times and God we played shit, i can't really think of any good points, and i haven't seen croatia play for years but i remember them in the previous world cups as a pretty good team, and if they've stayed the same things look bleak tonight for England.
however, the plsu point is thta Eriksson has more or less said he will resign if we miss out on euro 2004, it'll be a shame to miss out but eriksson will be gone

What's the most interesting thing you've seen in the last six months?
Garth: Obviously, Darkplace. It has rendered all subsequent and previous television redundant.

I wish he would use friendlies to play the same team and get them used to playing together instead of changing half the team at half time.

That was posted before even the half-time break and I wasn't even watching at that point, and was making more of a general statement about how he uses friendlies as opposed to this specific game. Also I never said the whole team I said half the team. But I guess we were both wrong! But I feel my point is somehow still relevant.
James changed for Robinson @ 46 mins Neville changed for Mills @ 81 mins Ferdinand changed for Upson @ 60 mins A Cole changed for Bridge @ 60 mins Beckham changed for Sinclair @ 60 mins Scholes changed for J Cole @ 60 mins Butt changed for Lampard @ 27 mins Gerrard changed for Muphy @ 81 mins Heskey changed for Beattie @ 75 mins Owen changed for Dyer @ 60 mins

Jesus, the defense in the game was pitiful and still we've got nobody for the left winger job. i liked shearer's suggestion though of bridge as left back and bumping ashley cole up into midfield, it might work. and lampard's goal was brilliant, but we were lucky to get away with conedcing just one goal
