This car represents a new interpretation of the high performance Italian luxury saloon, a segment created by Maserati with the first Quattroporte in 1963.
Pininfarina’s masterful styling is matched by a powerful 400 bhp V8, an extraordinarly spacious cabin, and the possibility of personalising the car right down to the smallest detail.
The car’s dimensions are 5052 mm length, 1895 mm width, 1438 mm height, and 3064 mm wheelbase.

im guessing it will be sold in the US, all of the previous Quattros have been sold mostly just in Italy

Well they only made around 1000-1500 of each model "type" so they never sold well period. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

i would say that it has definately been influenced by the BMW, especially in some of those bottom pics you posted, but theres nothing wrong with some influence BMW makes very high quality vehicles.

many of the german made cars are to be getting a big redesign in the 2005 models, it will be interesting to see what they look like.

I still fail to see any influence from BMW in the Quattroporte V
It has been redesigned by Pinifrinia since Ferrari took control of Maserati
Its stlying cues are from the Quattroporte I and the Biturbo Sedans of the 80s
The long front end and running sides are very distinct Maserati features from their 60's GT cars (the Sebring, Mistral, Mexico etc..)
The headlight and grille setup are VERY DISTINCT Maserati styling that they have used since the 60's
If anything, BMW has taken styling from Maserati, since the Quattroporte line has been around much longer than any BMW sedan line
I saw the newest BMWs at the NYC Autoshow, they looked horrible and they were making a 7-series with a V12 engine, bad idea. Germans can never make a V12 engine that works, and a V12 sedan?!?! Thats Italian territory... (the Quattroporte to be exact)
The new V12 BMW 7-Series and Mercedes Maybach were rushed into production when they heard a new Quattroporte was being engineered by Ferrari and Pinifrainia, as Car Magainze said in their now famous review of the Quattroporte IV
"The Germans may build a more technological automobile, but the Italians make a much more fun car"

Pininfarina designed it, German engineer "styling" had nothing to do with it
Pininfarina is the most respected design house in the entire automotive world, they would never copy German "factory style"
