Leader: General Pervez Musharraf
Info: The separation in 1947 of British India into the Muslim state of Pakistan (with two sections West and East) and largely Hindu India was never satisfactorily resolved. A third war between these countries in 1971 resulted in East Pakistan seceding and becoming the separate nation of Bangladesh. A dispute over the state of Kashmir is ongoing. In response to Indian nuclear weapons testing, Pakistan conducted its own tests in 1998. Following the September 11 attacks, Pakistan was put under heavy pressure to help the US against terrorism. They did so by invading Afghanistan on September 2003. After the Taliban took asylum in Tajikistan, the Pakistani government issued a ultimatum demanding the Tajiks return the fleers. They refused and fell under the cross hairs of the Pakistani Army which quickly overran the small nation.

Al-Jazeera Special Report
Pakistani Soldiers on Guard
Liberation of Afghanistan
Launched in September of 2003, Operation Restoration concentrated on liberating Afghanistan from the Taliban and Al-Quada terrorists.
Tanks, men, and fighters came swarming, taking Kabul and Kandahar. In the north, Mazar-e-Shariff and its airbase was secured. From then on air superiority was complete and bombs fell nightly. With its troops battered and its spirit crushed, the last armies surrendered at Herat in October 29, 2003.
But still, guerrillas and members of the Al-Quda terror network are making it a tough time as fighting still continues in a smaller scale near the mountains.
No resolve has been lost, though, as General Musharref has been quoted saying "We have freed these people, we are not about to release them to these barbaric monsters of hell once again"

Associated Press Reports
T85-II Tanks Roll Across Tajikistan
Operation True Islam
Codenamed Operation True Islam, soldiers and tanks stationed in Afghanistan invaded another nation accused of harboring extremists.
"We are on a mission to show the world, and to bring the world the true Islam." said General Musharref as he boarded a plane to visit troops in Herat.
The Tajik army is only 6,000 men in number but many suspect Islamic Jihad and Al-Quada terrorists might be hiding there.

An Urgent Release From the Pakistani Defense Department!
Missile Being Fired From a Pakistani Frigate
Maldivian Terrorism Funding, Sponsorship, Neutralized
In a small island chain, stuck in the middle of an ocean, noone would suspect terrorism funding. But it was happening, over 10% of the Maldivian GDP went to terrorist organizations.
To combat this threat, we launched Operation Oily Snake. Three Islamabad Class transports, loaded with infantrymen, struck the islands.
Within the hour, Male was secured, the police force stationed there having surrendered when frigates began firing.
Although this threat has been dealt with, officials believe more money might be coming from unassuming islands.
