South African Units

Ground Units:

Olifant 1B Tank Unit: The Olifant is tank that was designed and is in built in SA. It is good in the African ‘bush’ area and it is heavily armored. (Cost: 12)

Rooikat 105 Tank Unit: The Rooikat isn’t really a tank, it has 6x6 wheels instead of tracks but it has good amour and it mounts a 105mm Main Gun. (Cost: 10)

Rooikat 75 Unit: This unit is the same as the one above but this Rooikat has a 75mm Main Gun, which is weaker. (Cost: 6)

Ratel ZT-3 Anti-Tank Unit: The Ratel ZT-3 is a Ratel 6x6 vehicle converted to carry a ZT-3 anti-tank missile launcher on its roof. This unit is good against enemy tanks and vehicles. (Cost: 7)

Infantry Unit: This is the basic combat soldiers of the army. This unit has no vehicles to use in combat, only trucks to bring them to and from battlefields, during a battle they fight on foot. They are armed with assault rifles, grenades and light-machineguns. Foot infantry are good against anything but tanks and mechanized infantry. Infantry are very good at defending. (Cost: 4)

Ratel Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit is the same as the above unit but these troops ride and fight in the Ratel 6x6 Infantry Vehicle. Mechanized Infantry is good against enemy units but tanks. (Cost: 10)

Mobile Recon Unit: This recon unit uses Ratel 6x6, Mamib 4x4 and Jeep 4x4 vehicles to scout enemy positions and units. Having recon units in your attacks can help your ground units win. (Cost: 6)

Commando Unit: Commandos are elite special forces units that can perform any of the missions listed under the ‘Special Forces Rules’ section of the INFO topic. (Cost: 14)

LRP Infantry Unit: The LRP Infantry are elite South Africa assault troops who ride in Ratel 6x6 and Buffel 4x4 Infantry Vehicles. LRP Infantry are good for long range assaults, behind the lines assaults on enemy positions and long range patrolling. They are better trained than normal Infantry. (Cost: 8)

Para Infantry Unit: Paras are infantry trained to perform paradrops. They can jump from C-130 Air Transport Units and Puma Assault Helicopter Transport Units. Para Infantry are elite soldier as well. (Cost: 10, can jump from C-130 Aircraft Units and do assault landings in Puma Helicopter Assault Transport Units)

Towed Artillery Unit: Towed artillery are the standard truck-towed howitzers that many of you are common with. They are good against any ground unit at long range but they defeintly need to be protected as they are weak against any unit attacking them. (Cost: 4)

G-6 Self-Propelled Artillery Unit: This unit is basically the same as the above unit but the G-6 vehicle is a 6x6 wheeled and armored vehicle that carries a long range artillery gun inside it. (Cost: 8)

Valkir Self-Propelled Rocket Artillery Unit: The Valkir is a 6x6 heavy truck that carries a large rocket artillery launcher on it. Rockets are good against infantry and tanks. (Cost: 10)

Ystervark Anti-Aircraft Unit: The Ystervark is a 4x4 vehicle that mounts a RADAR controlled twin 40mm cannon anti-aircraft gun on it. It is good against enemy helicopters and low flying aircraft. (Cost: 6)

Engineer Unit: Engineer units can greatly help offensive and defensive operations, a player should have engineer units with all of their major operations. Engineer units include trucks, bull-dozers, engineer-tanks and other specialized engineering vehicles. They can help build defenses and help clear enemy defenses. (Cost: 10)

Air Units:

Atlas Cheetah C Fighter Unit: The Atlas Cheetah is a fighter built and designed in South Africa. It has good anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 10)

Atlas Cheetah D Attack/Fighter Unit: This version of the Cheetah carries anti-ground missiles and rockets, it can also carry bombs to bomb enemy facilities. (Cost: 11)

Mirage F1 AZ Attack/Fighter Unit: This is a SA built version of the French Mirage F1. It can carry anti-ground and anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 12, may carry 1 ‘plane dropped nuclear weapon load’)

Atlas Impala Mk2 Ground Attack Unit: The Impala is a light attack plane that can carry a wide assortment of anti-ground rockets, bombs and missiles. (Cost: 7)

C-130B Air Transport Unit: The C-130 is a large transport aircraft. Each unit can carry 1 ground unit. (Cost: 12, can carry 1 ground unit)

C-130AEW Early Warning Unit: The C-130AEW has a very powerful RADAR mounted on it. It can detect enemy aircraft from very far away. The C-130AEW has no weapons so it should probably be escorted by fighters. When a player has an Early Warning Aircraft Unit in a battle he gives his aircraft all a better chance of winning. (Cost: 12, can help friendly aircraft in a battle)

Puma Assault Helicopter Transport Unit: The Puma carries light machineguns and each unit can transport 1 Para Infantry Unit for rapid assaults. (Cost: 8, can carry 1 Para Infantry Unit)

Oryx Helicopter Transport Unit: The Oryx is a South Africa built and designed transport helicopter. It is unarmed but it can carry a lot. (Cost: 11, can carry 1 infantry unit of any type)

Rooivalk Attack Helicopter Unit: The Rooivalk was designed and is built in SA. It carries advanced anti-tank missiles and rocket pods. It is good against ground units. (Cost: 12)

Aerial Recon Unit: This unit has special scout planes and recon versions of the Impala to greatly assist battlefield intelligence. Having an aerial recon unit in your operations greatly increases your chance for success. (Cost: 10)

C-130 Air-Refueling Unit: This unit is a special unarmed aircraft that can refuel other aircraft mid-air. Each air-refueling unit can support up to 5 air units in a single strike/operation. They give these units unlimited range but the air-refueling unit must be in the air during the entire operation and it is vulnerable to enemy attack. (Cost: 20, is air-refueling unit)

Naval Units:

’Kommando’ Class Frigate: SA’s newest ship, the Kommando carries advanced anti-ship and anti-aircraft weapons. It is a good multipurpose ship. (Cost: 15)

’Mirkat’ Class Frigate: The new Mirkat is a anti-submarine ship with advanced ASW systems and weapons. (Cost: 12)

’Jan Smuts’ Class Missile Patrol Boat: The Jan Smuts carries anti-ship missiles. (Cost: 8)

'Lion’ Class Landing Ship: The 'Lion’ class carries 1 ground unit. The 'Lion’ is used for landing on enemy beaches and it carries only light anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 14, can carry 1 ground unit)

Transport Ship: The Transport Ship carries no weapons; it only carries 2 ground units. It can carry 2 ground units but only from one friendly harbor to another or to a beachhead that has been secured. (Cost: 14, carries 2 ground units)

Submarines:

’Kemsbok’ Class Diesel Powered Attack Submarine: The ‘Kemsbok’ carries good anti-ship and anti-submarine torpedoes. It is good for coastal defense. (Cost: 12)
