Soviet Units:

Aircraft/Helicopters:

Su-7 ‘Fitter-A’ Ground Attack Aircraft Unit: The Fitter-A is a single engine ground attack jet. It carries a 30mm cannon, rockets and bombs. It’s main role is to attack enemy ground units. It carries no anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 10)

Su-9 ‘Fishpot’ Fighter Aircraft Unit: The Su-9 is a modified Su-7 that carries anti-aircraft missiles and has longer range. Its main role is as a fighter and interceptor. (Cost: 12)

Su-15 ‘Flagon’ Interceptor Aircraft Unit: The Su-15 is a large twin-jet engine interceptor. It has long range and is fast. It carries a 30mm cannon and anti-aircraft missiles. Its main role is to intercept enemy bombers and attack aircraft. (Cost: 14)

Mig-19 ‘Farmer’ Fighter Aircraft Unit: The Mig-19 is a all single engine fighter. It carries a 30mm cannon and some anti-aircraft missiles. It is maneuverable though and cheap. Its main role is point defense and attacking enemy aircraft. (Cost: 8)

Mig-21 ‘Fishbed-F’ Fighter Aircraft Unit: The Mig-21F is the newest fighter in Soviet service. It has a single engine and is fast. It’s main armament is a 30mm cannon and several anti-aircraft missiles. The Fishbed’s primary mission is to attack enemy aircraft and defending Soviet airspace from American bombers. (Cost: 14)

Tu-28 ‘Firebar’ Fighter/Attack Aircraft Unit: The Tu-28 is a twin-engine fighter-bomber. It carries a 30mm cannon, rocket pods and bombs. Its main role is for attacking enemy ground and air targets. It isn’t as maneuverable as other Soviet fighters. (Cost: 11)

Tu-128 ‘Fiddler’ Interceptor Aircraft Unit: The Tu-28 is a very large long range interceptor. It isn’t very maneuverable but it carries long range anti-aircraft missiles. Its main mission is attacking enemy bombers and defending Soviet airspace. (Cost: 16)

Il-28 ‘Beagle’ Strike Bomber Unit: The Il-28 is a mid-sized twin engine strike bomber. It can carry a medium bomb load and it has cannons in the nose and tail for defense, but it is weak against enemy fighters. Its main role is striking tactical targets and enemy ground units. (Cost: 15)

Tu-16 ‘Badger-A’ Bomber Unit: The Tu-16 is a large twin-engine jet bomber. It carries several cannons for defense against enemy fighters and it can carry a large bomb load. Its main role is bombing enemy targets and cities. (Cost: 16, can carry 1 ‘plane dropped nuclear bomb load’)

Tu-16 ‘Badger-C’ Anti-Ship Bomber Unit: The Badger-C is a modified Badger-A that carries large anti-ship missiles instead of bombs. Its main role is attacking enemy ships and carriers. (Cost: 18)

Tu-22 ‘Blinder-A’ Strike Bomber Aircraft Unit: The Blinder is a fast bomber that carries only bombs. Its medium bomb load is good for attacking enemy bases and cities. It can outrun most enemy fighters but its weak against enemy SAMS. (Cost: 20)

Tu-95M ‘Bear-A’ Strategic Bomber Aircraft Unit: The Bear-A is a large 4-engine propeller driven heavy bomber. It has cannons on it to defend against enemy fighters and it can carry a large bomb load. Its main mission is attacking enemy cities and bases at long ranges. (Cost: 20, can carry 1 ‘plane dropped nuclear bomb load’)

M-4 ‘Bison-B’ Strategic Bomber Aircraft Unit: The Bison is a large jet powered heavy bomber. It carries several cannon for anti-aircraft defense but its main weapons are a large load of bombs. It can fly very far and is also nuclear capable. (Cost: 25, can carry 1 ‘plane dropped nuclear bomb load’)

An-12 ‘Cub’ Transport Aircraft Unit: The An-12 is a 4 engine propeller driven transport that carries no weapons. It can carry 1 ground unit. (Cost: 15, can carry 1 ground unit, may also drop ‘Paratrooper Infantry’ for airborne assaults)

Il-20 ‘Coot-A’ Anti-Submarine Patrol Aircraft Unit: The Il-20 is a converted airliner that carries depth charges and torpedoes for hunting enemy submarines. It has no anti-aircraft defensive armament. It is good at finding hidden enemy subs. (Cost: 17)

Mi-4 ‘Hound’ Helicopter Transport Unit: The Mi-4 is a transport helicopter that can carry 1 Airborne Infantry Unit for landing assaults. It has no weapons. (Cost: 15, can carry 1 ‘Airborne Infantry Unit’)

Tu-16 ‘Badger-D’ Recon Aircraft Unit: The Badger-D is a modified Badger-A that carries cameras and recon equipment instead of bombs. It has only light cannons for anti-aircraft defense. Its main role is for recon and surveillance work. (Cost: 20, is recon aircraft)

Ground Units:

T-62 Tank Unit: The T-62 is the newest tank in Soviet service. It carries a good 100mm main gun and it is armored quite well. Like all Russian tanks it is fast and cheap. (Cost: 10)

T-55 ‘Patton’ Tank Unit: The T-55 is an older tank in Russian service but its 100mm main gun and its cheap cost make it a good tank for large scale assaults. (Cost: 7)

T-10M Heavy Tank Unit: The T-10M is a WW2 era tank that is very large, heavy and armored like a fort. It has a massive 122mm main gun and it is used to support T-55 and T-62 tanks with long range fire power. (Cost: 16)

BTR-60P Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit uses the BTR-60P 8x8 wheeled APC to carry troops and their equipment in battle field situations. The BTR-60P has a 12.7mm machinegun on its roof and it has light amour. (Cost: 10)

BTR-152K Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit uses the BTR-152K armored truck to carry the troops in battle. Mech. Inf are good against most units expect air and tank units. (Cost: 7)

Recon Unit: This unit has specially trained recon troops and BTR-40 and BRDM-1 recon utility vehicles. Having recon units in your attacks make you more likely to beat enemy forces and you get better Intel on enemy positions etc.. (Cost: 8, is a recon unit)

Infantry Unit: This is the basic rifle unit. This unit is made up of soldiers mostly carrying AK47 rifles. These troops fight in foot but they have 6x6 trucks to carry them from battlefield areas. Basic Infantry are good against most units but have no anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 5)

Paratrooper Infantry Unit: This unit is the same as the normal ‘Infantry Unit’ but these soldiers are trained to jump from aircraft and make airborne assaults from helicopters. (Cost: 10, can be paradropped from An-12 units, can make airborne assaults from Mi-4 helicopter units)

Naval Marine Infantry Unit: This unit is made up of Naval Marine rifle soldiers armed with AK47 rifles, this unit also has BTR-60 amphibious tanks that can go from ship to shore. (Cost: 12)

ZSU-57-2 Anti-Aircraft Unit: The ZSU-57-2 is an armored vehicle that mounts twin 57mm anti-aircraft guns. This unit is good against helicopters and low flying attack aircraft. (Cost: 12)

122mm Towed Artillery Unit: This unit is made up of towed 122mm artillery pieces, this unit also includes trucks to tow these guns. This unit isn’t as mobile as the self-propelled artillery units but is cheaper. (Cost: 6)

152mm Towed Artillery Unit: This unit is made up of towed 152mm artillery pieces, this unit also includes trucks to tow these guns. This unit isn’t as mobile as the self-propelled artillery units but is cheaper. (Cost: 8)

BM-21 ‘Grad’ Self-Propelled Rocket Artillery Unit: The BM-21 is a 6x6 truck that mounts a rapid-fire rocket launcher. This unit is good for supporting friendly units with long range fire power. Like all artillery units it is vulnerable to direct attacks.

’Scud-1 Tactical Nuclear Rocket Unit: This unit has all the supporting vehicles and launching trucks needed to launch short range ‘Scud-1’ nuclear rockets. These rockets can travel 10-15 miles to attack enemy units. (Cost: 24, is tactical nuclear rocket unit)

Naval Ships and Submarines:

’Sverdlov’ Class Cruiser: The ‘Sverdlov’ class carries large guns and newer anti-ship missile systems. It is designed like a WW2 era cruiser but it has new electronics. (Cost: 45)

’Kresta’ Class Cruiser: The Kresta is a good cruiser armed with guns and anti-aircraft and anti-ship missiles. The main role of a cruiser is for surface action and attacks on enemy shipping. (Cost: 40)

’Kynda’ Class Missile Cruiser: The Kynda is a WW2 era cruiser modified to carry large N-3 anti-ship missile launchers. This ship is good against enemy sihps and enemy aircraft. (Cost: 52)

’Kashin’ Class Destroyer: The Kashin Class is the newest destroyer in Soviet surface. It carries advanced anti-sub and anti-aircraft weapons along with new RADAR and Sonar gear. It is a good sub hunter and surface battle unit. (Cost: 35)

’Kanin’ Class Destroyer: The Kanin is a good multipurpose sub hunter with anti-air weapons. It is fast and is also good for escort work, escorting friendly ships and protecting them from enemy sub attack. (Cost: 31)

’Kotlin’ Class Missile Destroyer: This ship carries a new advanced anti-aircraft missile system. Its primary mission is to defend friendly ships from air attack. (Cost: 32)

’Riga’ Class Frigate: The ‘Riga’ is a fast attack frigate that carries anti-sub and anti-ship guns and rockets. It is a good patrol and escort vessel. (Cost: 20)

’Petya’ Class Frigate: The ‘Petya’ carries anti-ship guns and anti-sub rockets. Its primary role is that of a sub chaser, escort and patrol ship. Frigates are not good for large surface battles but rather are meant for hunting enemy subs. (Cost: 25)

’Poti’ Class Corvette: Corvette’s are large patrol boats that are armed with light anti-ship and anti-aircraft weapons. Their main missions are escort, patrol, fast attack and diversionary attacks. (Cost: 17)

’Echo-II’ Class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine: The Echo-II is an advanced nuclear sub with good anti-ship and anti-sub torpedoes. Its main mission is to hunt enemy naval units. (Cost: 45)

’Hotel’ Class Nuclear Powered Missile Submarine: The Hotel Class carries torpedoes and 6 nuclear missiles of the ‘SS-N-5’ (Cost: 55, carries 6 ‘SS-N-5’ high power, medium range, nuclear missiles)

’November’ Class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine: The ‘November’ is a fast attack sub with deep diving capability and good anti-ship and anti-sub torpedoes. (Cost: 51)

’Yankee’ Class Nuclear Powered Missile Submarine: The ‘Yankee’ Class carries anti-ship and anti-sub torpedoes but it also has 5 missiles it can launch of the ‘SS-N-6’ type. (Cost: 60, can carry 6 ‘SS-N-6’ high power, medium range nuclear missiles)

’Juliett’ Class Diesel Powered Attack Submarine: The ‘Juliett’ Class is older than the ‘Echo-II’ class but it is cheaper and more reliable. These subs carry anti-ship and anti-sub torpedoes. (Cost: 40)

’Polnocny’ Class Amphibious Assault Ship: ‘Polnocny’’ class ships are for landing troops in assault landings. It carries light anti-air weapons. (Cost: 38, can carry 1 ground unit)

Transport Ship: Transport Ships are unarmed cargo ships that are just for moving units too and from friendly harbors and ESTABLISHED beach heads during assault landings. Each one can carry 2 ground units. (Cost: 25, can carry 2 ground units)

Unique Facilities:

’SS-7 ‘Saddler’ ICBM Launch Facility: The SS-7 is Russia’s long range, high power ICBM. Each SS-7 carries a high power warhead. This ‘Facility’ is actually a group of 6 silos and a command bunker. (Cost: 66, can launch 6 ‘SS-7 ‘Saddler’’ high power, long range nuclear missiles)

’SS-8 ‘Sasin’’ ICBM Launch Facility: This facility is a group of 8 ‘SS-8 ‘Sasin’’ missile silos and a command bunker. The SS-8 is a small medium-range, medium-power ICBM. (Cost: 50, can launch 8 ‘SS-8 ‘Sasin’ medium range, medium power, nuclear missiles)

SA-2 ‘Guideline’ Anti-Aircraft Missile Battery: SA-7 is the Soviet Union’s major anti-aircraft missile. It is a good missile and has good range. This facility is actually a battery of a few dozen SA-7 launchers, a command bunker and a RADAR facility. (Cost: 35)

SA-1 ‘Guild’ Anti-Aircraft Missile Battery: The SA-1 is an older missile used by the USSR. It has long range and has limited accuracy. This ‘Battery’ is a dozen or so SA-1 launching rails, a command bunker and a RADAR system. (Cost: 25)
