These images prove that the US is preparing for possible military action against Iraq.
Meanwhile several sources are reporting it's going to be a A NOVEMBER 6 WAR, such as this one from the mirror:
EXCLUSIVE: Eight reasons why the U.S. will attack Saddam this year
By Tom Newton Dunn and Ben Taylor
AMERICA will attack Iraq on November 6, US defence experts believe.
They are so sure of the date that they have posted an Iraq Countdown clock on the internet to show the minutes ticking away.
Five of the US Navy's aircraft carriers will be close to the Gulf region. Weather and political factors also favour the date picked by international think tank GlobalSecurity.org for the start of the campaign to topple Saddam Hussein.
Respected commentator John Pike, director of the Washington-based organisation, told the Daily Mirror: "Iraq is going to happen a lot sooner than most people think."
The eight key pointers are:
- President Bush must have resolved the Iraq situation when his re-election campaign begins in under 18 months, and a war and clean-up will take at least a year;
- Delaying an attack will give Saddam more time to prepare his defences;
- A war in the desert would be almost impossible before October because it is too hot for troops to wear protective bio-chemical suits;
- In December and January, temperatures are low enough to freeze diesel oil, cloud hinders air visibility, and desert snow can hamper tanks;
- Elections to the US Congress finish on November 5. President Bush cannot fight a war in the month-long run-up;
- Media speculation and government leaks had all predicted an invasion in February or March 2003, so early November might have given the US an element of surprise;
- The military will have time to replenish stocks of smart bombs that were depleted by the Afghanistan campaign;
- Five US aircraft carriers will be close by, together with Royal Navy carrier Ark Royal, providing an invasion base under the cover of routine deployment.
Aircraft carriers are expected to play a key role in any assault on Iraq.
Several allies, including Saudi Arabia and Jordan, that gave facilities in the 1991 Gulf War have ruled out the same support for America's drive to oust the Iraqi dictator.
Each American carrier will have a full complement of F18 Hornet fighter-bombers and a strike force of up to 1,000 Marines. All five will be battle ready and within five days sailing from the region on manoeuvres by the beginning of November.
Ark Royal's war games mission in the Mediterranean, announced this week, is due to finish on November 5.
Mr Pike said: "The opportunity to attack without having to announce new deployments to the world beforehand is likely to be far too good for Pentagon war-planners to ignore.
"You can go to war within three weeks of making a decision about it, and within one week of the world finding out.
"The President is under a lot of political pressure for results and his window is pretty tight.
"If I was a betting man, November 6 is where all my money would be." [ August 10, 2002, 09:33: Message edited by: ReDeeMeR ]

We can expect another Iraqi-Suck-A-Thon like in 91' with the launch of some chemcial rockets (*maybe*) all in all the American and British troops will steam roll Iraqi units again, the Republican Guard will surrender or throw down their rifles and run, Saddam will die in an air-raid or commit suicide or maybe be overthrown blah blah blah
I wonder if the Styrker and M1A2SEP will see action?
Will British equipment fail (Again!) in the desert?

gb dont you think Saddam has learnt any lessons? this time around the battles are going to be in urban areas (not deserts) making it difficult for the allies and technology will have little importance

why don't you read some REAL military analyst sites other than fucking 'Tehran Military Times' or 'Arabic News Anaylst Site: Death to the Infidel"

Well the two sources I have used so far in this topic are BBC news and CNN; I would certainly like to know what your fictitious sources are – could it be afghan intelligence

well a source in the CNN yesterday argued they cannot be used to max potential in this 'urban war' and technology could have little imporance, besides the US is currently finding it difficult to find countires which will allow troops for an invasion of Iraq, so far the arabs have rallied on the side of saddam rather than the Us, thats whats happens when a monkey (bush) runs the show.

So he is an islamic fundamentalist and a zionist? Funny that.
The war is going to come as soon as Mr Bush gets support. The twin towers excuse is still worth alot to him and now he is using the added weapons of mass destruction argument.
Firstly Iraq had nothing to do with September 11. Although most of the hijackers were Suadi Arabian but being a US protectorate providing its oil loyally they need not worry. Iraq on the other hand isnt friendly to the US - and so is involved somehow.
Scott Ritter - former weapons inspector in Iraq - as well as senior UN officials has confirmed that Iraq has neither chemical, biological nor nuclear capabilities. On the other hand the US has all of these in vast supplies and doesn't allow their inspection.
So the only reason for this war is oil and profits. The US empire needs to extend its influence. Having won control of the Aghan oil in the Caspian it has now set its greedy eyes on Iraq.
Already America (and Britain) have been responsible for killing hundreds of thousands if not millions in Iraq - mainly through sanctions. This is genocide. US and UK planes bomb Iraq every day virtually and as for the no fly zones - well they allow Turkish planes to bomb Kurdish villages. The war is already going on and Iraqis are dying in their thousands. What we are now going to see is an extension of the war into an all out military offensive to topple the Iraqi regime and install a US friendly one (and they have a great record - saddam, pinochet, noriega were all their best friends - to name but a few). The death toll could be awful with the Iraqis already seeing the US rather than Saddam as their main enemy. And while Saddam has to go, carpet bombing villages, cluster bombing the desert and shooting at everything that moves in a devestated, poor country is not justifiable. The build up is going on and Bush is prepared for it but Tony Blair has a different situation.
He could lose the support of his party and eventually the people. Already the Labour conference is planned to be full of anti war motions and a huge rally is planned for the day before. People are deserting the party and in a few years funding has dropped 88%. Blair has to be more careful than Bush. But he will be pulled in and British troops will do their small bit to extend the genocide.
UN support wont be necessary. After all, international law doesnt apply to America.
The war is a crime. Supporting it is supporting genocide. Anybody with a progressive bone in their body should be opposed to it.

Dennis, there's some lovely filth down here."
