Pakistan is situated in the western part of the Indian subcontinent, with Afghanistan and Iran on the west, India on the east, and the Arabian Sea on the south. The name Pakistan is derived from the Urdu words Pak (meaning pure) and stan (meaning country). It is nearly twice the size of California.
Military rule was instituted Oct. 1999; a nominal democracy was declared in June 2001 by the ruling military leader, Bronx Junglist
Current State of the Country:
After undergoing some internal changes Pakistan realises that the current international rhetoric and military build up will not go away and decides the only thing for it is to also begin to strengthen its military machine.
