Hey guys, just registered, good to be here.
Thanks for posting that link, was searchin hard...
got a prob though, I dl'ed it, and it runs, but only to the sp mission screen. When I try to start the mission, I crash to desktop. Anyone else have this prob/ know what might be wrong?

welcome to the boards the problem your getting has happend to alot of people, quite a few people on the CDV message board reported this problem , its most likely due to the fact that the demo is still in beta form and many problems are not yet fixed which version of windows are you running? @Redking: I would like to sechulde some 2v2 or 3v3 games soon so we can test the games large scale multiplayer support, as far as i know no other fans have done games this big, i'll IM u if i get one going

if your reading this post and you came from CDV to download the demo, please take a minute to register aswell and post here, we will offer tech support for the demo beta, CDV doesn't want to even acknowledge its existance!

thanks for helpin. I run win98, which I updated a couple months ago. Have you heard of anyone solving this problem?
Talk about bad luck...finally found the demo, d/l it, have it on my box, get all the way through the menu, then BAM!!!
ouch it hurts...

hmm i'm guessing you've already tried uninstalling it and then reinstalling it...from what i understand about the demo, if you try and play as UK it will crash, only Japan and USA sides are playable also try closing all uneeded programs (virus scan, Instant Messangers etc..) before running it if none of that works, all i can say is try to run it on another computer its a beta of the demo, so there are bound to be lots of problems

to install the demo correct you need to do the following steps:
1. Using WinAce or another unAceing program UNace the entire file into its own seperate folder, it should call it 'ss2beta' or something like that
2. click on the exe icon in that folder and it should start up
only 2 mplayer maps work as i remember, the others must have been added by CDV and then taken out
@101: There have been many problems with the demo and it not working, if it still doesn't work than chances are a bug in it is preventing it from working, its still a beta

For all you who have it working, what version of windows are you using? and those that don't work, too. I read in another forum ppl talking about having 128 bit to run it. I'm using 98 and some say that may be the prob?
