New Great Britain

 -
 -

Leader: Prime Minister Michael Brookes

Info:
Great Britain, the dominant industrial and maritime power of the 19th century, played a leading role in developing parliamentary democracy and in advancing literature and science. At its zenith, the British Empire stretched over one-fourth of the earth's surface. The first half of the 20th century saw the UK's strength seriously depleted in two World Wars. The second half witnessed the dismantling of the Empire and the UK rebuilding itself into a modern and prosperous European nation. As one of five permanent members of the UN Security Council, a founding member of NATO, and of the Commonwealth, the UK pursues a global approach to foreign policy; it currently is weighing the degree of its integration with continental Europe. A member of the EU, it chose to remain outside the European Monetary Union for the time being. Constitutional reform is also a significant issue in the UK. The Scottish Parliament, the National Assembly for Wales, and the Northern Ireland Assembly were established in 1999.

British Units

Ground Units:

Challenger II Tank Unit:
The Challenger II is Britain’s best tank. It is the most armoured tank in all of NATO with its second generation Chobham armour and had the most advanced electronics. It is good against all ground units but bad against air units Tanks are best used against enemy tanks. (Cost: 17)

Challenger I Tank Unit:
The Challenger I is an older version of the Challenger II. Still a potent and highly armoured weapon with first generation Chobham armour and electronics(Cost: 15)

Chieftain Mk5 Tank Unit:
The Chieftain Mk5 is an older tank. Its armor and electronics are less than the Challenger’s. (Cost: 12)

Warrior Mechanized Infantry Unit:

Saxon Mechanized Infantry Unit:
This unit uses older, wheeled and less armored Saxon Infantry Vehicles. Mechanized Infantry are good against all ground units but bad against air units. (Cost: 5)

AFV 430 Mechanized Infantry Unit:
This unit is the same as the Warrior Mech. Inf unit but these troops ride in the older, cheaper and less armored FV430 Infantry Vehicle. (Cost: 6)

Armed Recon Unit:
This unit uses Sabre and Scimitar recon vehicles. Having recon units in your attack will increase your chances of victory. (Cost: 10, is a recon unit)

Infantry Unit:
This is the basic combat soldier unit of the army. This unit has no vehicles to use in combat, only trucks to bring them to and from battlefields, during a battle they fight on foot. Striker Anti-Tank Unit:
The Strike is a tracked vehicle that carries Swingfire Anti-Tank Missiles. This unit is good against tanks but nothing else. (Cost: 7)

AS-90 Self-Propelled Artillery Unit:
The AS-90 is a artillery gun mounted on an armored vehicle to make it travel faster and be protected. Artillery is good against any ground unit as long as its protected. (Cost: 8)

Towed Artillery Unit:
Towed artillery are the standard truck-towed howitzers that many of you are common with. They are good against any ground unit at long range but they defeintly need to be protected as they are weak against any unit attacking them. (Cost: 6)

M270 MLRS Rocket Artillery Unit:
This unit is basically the same idea as the AS-90 but it uses rockets instead of artillery shells. The rocket launcher is mounted on a tracked unit and it is somewhat stronger than a towed-artillery unit, but is still weak against any attacking force. Rockets are good against tanks and infantry. (Cost: 9)

Rapier SAM Anti-Aircraft Missile Unit:
The Rapier is a special anti-aircraft missile vehicle, it is only good against enemy aircraft and helicopters. (Cost: 8)

Starstreak SAM Anti-Aircraft Unit:

Royal Marine Infantry Unit:
The Royal Marines are elite troops who are trained to land on enemy beaches. They are good against all ground units. Marine units are best used when invading enemy nations from the sea. (Cost: 12)

Para Infantry Unit:
Paratroopers are infantry who can jump from A400 Air Transport Unit. Paratroopers are slightly better than normal infantry. Paras are good against enemy ground units. (Cost: 10, may be carried in the Lynx Helicopter Transport Unit)

SAS Commandos:
The SAS are some of the best special forces troops in the world. SAS Commandos may perform any of the commando operations listed under the ‘Special Forces Rules’ section of the INFO topic. (Cost: 16)

Air Units:

Eurofighter 'Typhoon' Fighter/Attack Unit:
The 'Lynx' is the English version of the Eurofighter project aircraft. It has advanced computer systems and anti-aircraft and anti-gound weapons. It out performs almost all existing fighter aircraft. (Cost: 16)

Cougar Mk1 Heavy Helicopter Transport Unit:
The Coguar can carry 1 Infantry Unit. Its only weapon is a door mounted gun. (Cost: 10, can carry 1 Infantry Unit)

Navy Lynx Anti-Ship/Submarine Naval Helicopter Unit:
The Navy Lynx only carries anti-ship and anti-submarine weapons. It is bad against enemy air units. It can operate off of any carrier or helicopter carrier. (Cost: 7, can be based on carriers and helicopter carriers)

Merlin HM Anti-Ship/Submarine Naval Helicopter Unit:
The Merlin HM is the Royal Navy’s newest ASW chopper. It has no anti-aircraft weapons but it is very good at finding enemy submarines and ships. (Cost: 10, can be based on carriers and helicopter carriers)

A400M Air Transport Unit:
The A400M is an unarmed transport aircraft. Each unit can carry 1 ground unit, they may also drop Para Infantry units as paratroopers. (Cost: 14, can carry 1 ground unit)

When a player has a Early Warning Aircraft Unit in a battle he gives his aircraft all a better chance of winning. (Cost: 18, can help friendly aircraft in a battle)

Naval Units:

’Castle’ Class Patrol Boat:
The Castle Class are Patrol Boats that are fast and armed with only light anti-ship weapons. (Cost: 6)

Type 23 ‘Duke’ Class Frigate:
The Type 23 Class Frigate carries anti-submarine, anti-ship and anti-aircraft weapons. It is a potent multi-purpose ship but lacks any anti-ground weapons. (Cost: 14)

Type 22 ’Cornwall’ Class Frigate:
The Type 22 Frigate is larger than the Type 23 but It carries more anti-ship weapons than anti-aircraft weapons. So it is bad against enemy aircraft. (Cost: 20)

Type 22 ‘Broadsword’ Class Frigate:
The Type 22 Broadsword Frigate is an upgrade version of the Cornwall Class. It carries additional anti-ship weapons than anti-aircraft weapons. So it is bad against enemy aircraft. (Cost: 24)

Type 42 ‘Sheffield’ Class Destroyer:
The Type 42 is very good against enemy aircraft but it is not that good against enemy ships. (Cost: 26)

Type 42 ’Manchester’ Class Destroyer:
The Type 42 ‘Manchester’ is very good against enemy aircraft and in its upgrade Manchester form it carries better anti-ship weapons. (Cost: 30)

‘Ark Royal’ Class Super Carrier:
The Ark Royal Class Super Carrier is powered by a nuclear reactor and has only limited anti-aircraft weapons. It can carry 4 Naval Aircraft, Naval VTOL or Naval Helicopter Units. (Cost: 50, can carry 4 Naval Helicopter, Naval VTOL or Naval Aircraft Units)

’Invincible’ Class Carrier:

They can carry 2 units of VTOL Naval Aircraft Units or Naval Helicopter Units (Cost: 38, can carry 2 Naval Helicopter or Naval VTOL Aircraft Units)

’Ocean’ Class Helicopter Carrier:
The Ocean Class Helicopter Carrier can carry 2 units of Naval Helicopters. The carrier depends on its escort to defend it as it lacks any real powerful weapons. (Cost: 25, carries 2 Naval Helicopter Units)

Submarines:
(Note: If a submarine can carry nuclear weapons remember that it only has 1 ‘load’ and must reload that ‘weapons load’ after it has fired them off)

’Vanguard’ Class Nuclear Powered Missile Submarine:
The Vanguard Submarine is powered by a nuclear reactor and carries 4 high-power nuclear missiles. Other than these missiles it only has a few torpedoes so it needs protection from enemy units. (Cost: 40, carries 4 high power nuclear missile)

’Trafalgar’ Class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine:
The Trafalgar Attack Submarine is powered by a nuclear reactor. It is good against enemy ships and submarines but has no anti-aircraft and anti-ground weapons. (Cost: 30)
