it seems people are doing alot of 'new unit research' so this thread is where you post what type of unit you need when your done with the research, i will then go out and make a 'new' unit for you and you can copy and paste it into your unit list

this isnt a new unit request, but i figured that if i post this here you would be sure to see this.
this is a copy from my unit list.
C-141 ‘Starlifter’ Heavy Air Transport Unit: The C-141 is a long range transport plane. Each C-141 unit can carry 2 ground units. (Cost: 20, can carry 1 ground unit)
C-17 ‘Globemaster’ Air Transport Unit: The C-17 is the US Airforce’s newest transport. The C-17 is faster than the older C-130 and it has better RADAR. (Cost: 15, can carry 1 ground unit)
the C-141 says that it carries 2 units in the description, but in the '(' ')' s it has 1 ground unit.
its more expensive then the C-17 which caries 1 unit, so the c-141 proly caries 2, but i wanted to make sure.
if it only carries one then how come its more expencive then the C-17?

the both can carry only 1 but the C-141 has a better chance of surviving in combat (even though both have no anti-air weapons, the C-141 is faster and thus more likely to escape enemy attack) ![[Smile]](smile.gif)

The Pheonix
The Phoenix Unmanned Air Vehicle (UAV) is an all weather, day or night, real time surveillance and target acquisition system. Pheonix's surveillance suite is datalinked to a ground station which, in turn, transmits the intelligence gathered directly to artillery command posts. The Phoenix UAV is almost entirely made from Kevlar, glass fibre, carbon reinforced plastics and Nomex honeycomb; and is powered by a 25hp two stroke flat twin engine. The UAV can be launched within an hour of reaching launch site. Up to 2 UAV's can be controlled from the same ground contol station. Phoenix is operated by the Royal Artillery.

This current game has no support(rules) for UAVs so sorry on that one (next game, i promise)

Eurofighter 'Puma' Fighter Unit: The Puma is the advanced, super-manuvreability version of the German 'Lynx' base fighter/attack jet. 'Puma' carries only air-to-air weapons but they are very advanced and it is a very capable fighter. (Cost: 18 credits)

i would like a ship thats realy good against other ships.
it dont realy matter if its small (and cheap, and i would build a bunch) or big
maybe i should just shut up and use my cruisers/destroyers.
but it seems to me like all the ships i got now are all multipurpose. and it would seem like if i made one thats Primarily for ship fighting that i could get more......bang for the buck.
any suggestions?
i dont even know what type of unit it would be and which new unit research it would be.

I would like a heavy battleship/cruiser type naval missile and or gun platform ... as in 40 or more credits big.
Used mainly as an anti-ship vessel, with adequate submarine protection and the ability to pound enemy shorelines in prepartion for landings.
Also an SBS units for causing spec ops trouble in ports/landings or at sea. Having a dual role as a forward recon unit for landings and also attack.
Have the ability to be inserted in with subs and sneak ashore in their own small vessels.

@hamiro: today the 'torpedo boat' has become the 'missile boat', same size, same job but uses SSMs instead of torpedos ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
@junglist: battleships no longer are parts of naval forces, so im guessing your talking about something like the Russian 'Slava' class missile crusier? ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

Achzarit 2 Mechanized Infantry Unit: The Achzarit 2 is a modifed Achzarit IFV that mounts a new turret with a 20mm cannon and several machineguns. There is also more armour and a new engine. Argentina Would like a new naval Aircraft that can go toe to toe with the best the Americans or Europeans can put up.
In Fact lets just buy the JSF being built by Europeans and America since it is a supposed international fighter.

Premier Nemesis demands the plans to the Xin Sheng, having already bought one and not knowing what the hell it was due to the laziness of his Planning Department.
If these are not on his desk by the next month(turn) he will sack the Defence Minister and the entire Planning Department. ![[Razz]](tongue.gif)
The Xin Sheng is a multi-purpose destroyer, excellent in all areas, carrying a small number of cruise missiles etc too, and costing an amazing $40million per ship(40c).

New Recon Unit Research
SBS recon can be inserted secretly from subs to recon shorelines to give intelligence.
Can lay in wait and do small hits on key targets the moment of the landings.

New Missile Destroyer Class = 50 Completed turn 41
Missile cruiser that carries long range anti shipping weapons and conventional cruise missiles for hitting shoreline and inland targets. I want this thing to cost 50 credits and be ‘the fucking daddy’ so to speak.

What you got to remember is that when you get a unit that has double purposes, like a ship that hits land units and navy units, or a recon unit that does recon and attacks, it can make it weaker.
A recon unit that is designed for JUST recon will do a better job than a recon unit that is designed for BOTH recon and attacking. However, a recon unit that just does recon can't attack other units. Just remember that.

Strictly it would not be attacks, only recon and laying charges and passing info for the assualt. It would not be involved in combat after.
