Chinese Units
Ground Units:
Type 98 Tank Unit: The Type 98 is China’s latest and greatest tank. Like all Chinese equipment it is reliable and heavily armed. (Cost: 14)
Type 90-I Tank Unit: The Type 90-I is a good multipurpose tank. Like all Chinese equipment it is inexpensive and heavily armed. (Cost: 12)
Type 88C Tank Unit: The Type 88C is a good tank in the Chinese Army. Like all tanks it is good against enemy tanks and vehicles. (Cost: 10)
Type 85-III Tank Unit: The Type 85-III is an upgraded version of an older design but it forms the bulk of the Chinese tank army. (Cost: 8)
Type 80-I Tank Unit: The Type 80-I is the oldest tank in Chinese service. It is reliable and cheap. (Cost: 6)
Type YW 309 Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit is a basic infantry unit but these soldiers ride in YW 309 Infantry Fighting Vehicles. Mechanized Infantry is good against enemy tanks and other vehicles. (Cost: 10)
Type YW 534 Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit is the same as the above unit but these troops ride and fight in the older, less armored and less armed YW 534 Infantry Carrier. (Cost: 8)
Type WZ 551 Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit is the same as the above units but these troops ride in the weakly armored and wheeled 6x6 WZ 551 Infantry Vehicle. This unit has both the APC and IFV variants of the WZ 551. This unit is good against all units expect tanks and air units. (Cost: 5)
Type YW 531C Mechanized Infantry Unit: The YW 531C is a armored infantry carrier with weak armor and only limited weapons. It is cheap and reliable. (Cost: 6)
Motor Recon Unit: This unit is a recon unit that uses Type 55 4x4, Type WZ 523 6x6 and WZ 551 6x6 recon vehicles for recon work. Having recon units in your attacks can increase your chances of victory. (Cost: 5, is a recon unit)
Infantry Unit: This is the basic combat soldiers of the army. This unit has no vehicles to use in combat, only trucks to bring them to and from battlefields, during a battle they fight on foot. They are armed with assault rifles, grenades and light-machineguns. Foot infantry are good against anything but tanks and mechanized infantry. Infantry are good at defending. (Cost: 2)
Paratrooper Infantry Unit: This unit is the same as the above unit but these troops can paradrop from Y-8 Air Transport Units and make assaults from H-9 Assault Transport Helicopter Units. (Cost: 6, can be carries in H-9 Assault Transport Helicopter Unit)
Marine Infantry Unit: Naval Marines are good infantry for attacking. This unit has landing vehicles (Type 99 amphibious tanks and Type 77 landing vehicles) so they can assault enemy shores. While any unit can land in a landing on enemy beaches, Marines are the best for this type of operation. They are best used from Assault Landing Ships. (Cost: 8)
Marine Infantry Support Unit: This unit contains Marine Infantry artillery and Type 99 vehicles, along with more Type 77 landing tanks. A Marine Infantry Support Unit when used with a Marine Infantry Unit is a very deadly combo. The Marine Infantry Support Unit is generally good against all units and this unit can land from assault landing ships. (Cost: 10)
Commando Unit: This is a special commando unit. These commandos may perform any of the missions listed under the ‘commando/special forces rules’ section of the INFO topic. (Cost: 12)
YW 534 H-8 Anti-Tank Unit: This unit is a converted YW 534 Infantry Carrier that has twin H-8 anti-tank missile launchers installed on the roof. This unit is good against tanks and mechanized infantry. (Cost: 6)
Towed Artillery Unit: Towed artillery are the standard truck-towed howitzers that many of you are common with. They are good against any ground unit at long range but they defeintly need to be protected as they are weak against any unit attacking them. (Cost: 3)
Type 83 Self-Propelled Artillery Unit: This unit is basically the same as the above unit but the Type 83 vehicle is a tracked and armored vehicle that carries a long range artillery gun inside it. (Cost: 6)
Type 90 Self-Propelled Rocket Artillery Unit: The Type 90 rocket unit uses a large 8x8 truck chassis to carry a large rocket artillery launcher. Rocket Artillery is good against all units from afar but is very weak when attacked. (Cost: 10)
Type 85 Self-Propelled Rocket Artillery Unit: The Type 85 is a modified YW 534 Infantry Carrier that carries a large rocket artillery launcher on it instead of troops. Rockets are good against infantry and tanks. (Cost: 8)
Type 95 Anti-Aircraft Unit: The Type 88 is a armored vehicle with 4 25mm anti-aircraft/helicopter cannons on it. It is good against enemy aircraft and helicopters. (Cost: 6)
HQ-7 Anti-Aircraft SAM Unit: The HQ-7 is an armored vehicle that carries a anti-aircraft missile launcher on it. This unit is good against enemy aircraft and helicopters but has no ground defense. (Cost: 7)
S-300 Anti-Aircraft SAM Unit: The S-300 is a large anti-aircraft missile system mounted on the rear of a large 8x8 trailer towed by a 4x4 tractor truck. This is a new system that has long-high (long range, high altitude) capabilities. This system is good against all aircraft. (Cost: 12)
Engineer Unit: Engineer units can greatly help offensive and defensive operations, a player should have engineer units with all of their major operations. Engineer units include trucks, bull-dozers, engineer-tanks and other specialized engineering vehicles. They can help build defenses and help clear enemy defenses. (Cost: 10)
Air Units:
J-10 Fighter Unit: The J-10 is China’s newest fighter. It is a good design with good maneuverability and it carries good anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 12)
J-8 Fighter/Attack Unit: The J-8 was China’s first domestically produced fighter. It is reliable and cheap. It carries anti-aircraft and anti-ground weapons. (Cost: 8)
J-8II Fighter Unit: The J-8II is an upgraded version of the J-8, it has a better engine and better electronics. It is reliable and cheap. It carries only anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 10)
J-7E Fighter Unit: The J-7E is an older but still effective fighter aircraft armed with only anti-air weapons. (Cost: 6)
Q-5E ‘Fantan’ Attack/Fighter Unit: The Q-5E carries good anti-ground weapons and some light anti-aircraft weapons. Its China’s main ground attack aircraft and it can also attack enemy facilities. (Cost: 10)
JH-7 Attack/Strike Bomber Unit: The JH-7 resembles a large fighter but it is a low level attack bomber. It carries good anti-ground, anti-ship and anti-facility weapons. (Cost: 14)
H-6 Strategic Bomber Unit: The H-6 is a modified version of the famous Russian Tu-16 bomber, but the H-6 is built in China. It can carry a large bomb load to a far range or it can carry 1 ‘plane dropped nuclear weapon load’. (Cost: 18, can carry 1 ‘plane dropped nuclear weapons load’)
Y-8 Air Transport Unit: The Y-8 is a Chinese built copy of the Russian An-22. The Y-8 is an unarmed transport plane. (Cost: 10, can carry 1 ground unit)
Y-8AEW Early Warning Unit: Y-8AEW has a very powerful RADAR mounted on it. It can detect enemy aircraft from very far away. The A-40 has no weapons so it should probably be escorted by fighters. When a player has an Early Warning Aircraft Unit in a battle he gives his aircraft all a better chance of winning. (Cost: 14, can help friendly aircraft in a battle)
WZ-9 Attack Helicopter Unit: The WZ-9 is a modified H-9 Helicopter. The WZ-9 carries anti-tank missiles and rocket pods. It is good against any ground unit but has no anti-air weapons. (Cost: 8)
H-9 Assault Transport Helicopter Unit: The H-9 carries only light machineguns but it can carry 1 Paratrooper Infantry Unit. (Cost: 8, can carry 1 Paratrooper Infantry Unit)
H-8 Transport Helicopter Unit: The H-8 is a large transport chopper that can carry 1 of any Infantry Unit. (Cost: 10, can carry 1 Infantry Unit of any type)
H-6MP Anti-Submarine/Anti-Ship Unit: The H-6MP is a modified version of the H-6 bomber. The H-6MP carries torpedoes and special equipment to hunt enemy ships and submarines. (Cost: 12)
Z-9C Naval Anti-Submarine/Anti-Ship Helicopter Unit: The Z-9C is a modified H/WZ-9 that carries sub hunting gear and anti-ship/sub weapons to attack enemy submarines and ships. It can operate off of capable ships. (Cost: 8, can be based on carriers and helicopter carriers)
Aerial Recon Unit: This unit has WX-9 recon helicopters and recon versions of the Q-5 to greatly assist battlefield intelligence. Having an aerial recon unit in your operations greatly increases your chance for success. (Cost: 10)
Naval Units:
’Hanzhou’ Class Missile Destroyer: The ‘Hanzhou’ is a heavily modified copy of a Russian ship. The ‘Hanzhou’ carries good anti-ship and anti-aircraft missile systems and a good RADAR suite. (Cost: 24)
’Luhai’ Class Missile Destroyer: The Luhai carries advanced anti-ship and anti-aircraft missiles and weapon systems (Cost: 18)
’Luhu’ Class Destroyer: The Luhu carries anti-ship and anti-aircraft weapons along with good RADAR systems. (Cost: 20)
’Luda-III’ Class Destroyer: The Luda-III is an older but still effective anti-ship and anti-sub destroyer. (Cost: 15)
’Jiangwei-II’ Class Frigate: This ship carries anti-air, anti-sub and anti-ship systems. (Cost: 12)
’Jianghu-III’ Class Frigate: This ship carries advanced anti-air, anti-sub and anti-ship systems. (Cost: 10)
’Jiangwei-V’ Class Frigate: This ship carries advanced anti-air, anti-sub and anti-ship systems. This vessel is the best in the ‘Jianghu’ type. (Cost: 14)
’Hainan’ Class Patrol Boat: This ship is China’s main patrol boat, it carries light anti-ship and anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 8)
’Houjian’ Class Missile Patrol Boat: The Houjian Class Patrol Boat carries missile launchers for anti-ship missiles onboard. (Cost: 10)
’Yuting’ Class Landing Ship: This is China’s main landing ship class. It has only light anti-aircraft weapons and can carry 1 ground unit and 1 Naval Helicopter Transport Unit. (Cost: 18, can carry 1 ground unit and 1 Naval Helicopter Transport Unit)
’Yukan’ Class Landing Ship: This is a normal assault landing ship. It has only light anti-aircraft weapons and can carry 1 ground unit. (Cost: 12, can carry 1 ground unit)
’Yudeng’ Class Assault Landing Ship: The ‘Yudeng’ is like the two above ships but it can’t carry any helicopters and carries heavier weapons for attacking enemy ground units near the shore. It can carry 1 ground unit. (Cost: 16, can carry 1 ground unit)
Transport Ship: The Transport Ship carries no weapons; it only carries 2 ground units. It can carry 2 ground units but only from one friendly harbor to another or to a beachhead that has been secured. (Cost: 14, carries 2 ground units)
Submarines:
(Note: If a submarine can carry nuclear weapons remember that it only has 1 ‘load’ and must reload that ‘weapons load’ after it has fired them off)
’Xia’ Class Nuclear Powered Missile Submarine: The ‘Xia’ is China’s nuclear missile sub. It is less advanced as Russian, British, American and other designs but it gets the job done. Its power comes from nuclear reactors and it also carries torpedoes for attacking enemy ships and submarines. (Cost: 32, carries 3 high power nuclear missiles)
’Han’ Class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine: The ‘Han’ is China’s only nuclear powered attack submarine. It isn’t as advanced as western and Russian designs but it carries torpedoes to sink enemy ships and submarines. (Cost: 22)
’Song’ Class Diesel Powered Attack Submarine: This is China’s newest sub. Although it has a diesel engine and can’t go as far or deep as nuclear subs it carries advanced torpedo systems and can sink enemy ships and submarines. (Cost: 18
’Ming’ Class Diesel Powered Attack Submarine: The ‘Ming’ is the oldest sub in the PLN fleet, it is primary for coastal defense. It can carry anti-ship and anti-submarine torpedoes but it is old and noisy. (Cost: 15)
