Info: The arise of Egypt

A very long time ago, Egypt was one big oase. But this oase dried up after a lot of years, so everyone had to go to the Nile, because this was the only place where something could live. Before this, the people in Egypt were all nomads, but when the Sahara turned into a desert they started to be farmers. The Nile is every summer flooded because the high mountains in the south then start to melt. The Egyptian farmers used this to make the land fruitfull. For this reason the Egyptians had to cooporate and that's why they picked a leader. But off course the leaders wanted to have more power so they started wars against other leaders. At the end of long fighting, there were two lands, with each one leader. This was Upper and Lower Egypt. The king of Lower Egypt (thats in the south because the Nile streams to the north) won the war and became King of Upper and Lower Egypt, a title that still ran 3000 years after this. The first king of Egypt was Narmer, who's probably the same as the legendary king Menes. There's a picture of him above where he wears the crown of Upper and Lower Egypt and where he smites his enemies in the body of a bull. Another symbol of Upper and Lower Egypt is the volture and the snake, or the papyrus and the reed. Narmer was the first pharao of Egypt, and he had a lot successors (there were 30 dynasties). This first period of Egypt (the first dynastie and before) is called the pre-dynastic period. People were still mumified in the hot sand with some artefacts. The first pharaos were buried in Abydos, just like Osiris.

Egyptian Units

Ground Units:

M1A1 Abrams Tank Unit: The M1A1 is the new main battle tank of the Suadi Army It’s a very good tank, tanks are best used against enemy tanks, they are weaker against enemy infantry and anti-tank units. (Cost: 13)

M60A3 Patton Tank Unit: The M60A3 is slower and less armored than the M1A1 but it costs less. (Cost: 10)

T-62E Tank Unit: The T-62E is an older Russian design but it still can have an effect on the modern battlefield. (Cost: 8)

Rames 2 Tank Unit: The Rames 2 is a upgraded version of the Russian T-62. It has good armour and a good gun. (Cost: 7)

Recon Unit: The Recon Unit contain Fahd 4x4 and BRDM-2 4x4 armored vehicles. Having recon units in your attacks can increase your chances of victory. (Cost: 8, is a recon unit)

YPR-765 Anti-Tank Unit: The YPR-765 is a converted M113 that carries a TOW anti-tank missile launcher on its roof. This unit is very good against tanks and other vehicles. but weak against everything else. (Cost: 8)

Nile-2 Anti-Aircraft Unit: The Nile-2 carries a 23mm gattling gun to destroy enemy aircraft. The Vulcan is good against aircraft and helicopters. Its very weak against ground units. (Cost: 6)

SP-122 Self-Propelled Artillery Unit: The SP-122 is a artillery gun mounted on an armored vehicle to make it travel faster and be protected. Artillery is good against any ground unit as long as its protected. (Cost: 8)

Towed Artillery Unit: Towed artillery are the standard truck-towed howitzers that many of you are common with. They are good against any ground unit at long range but they defeintly need to be protected as they are weak against any unit attacking them. (Cost: 4)

Suqr 30 Rocket Artillery Unit: This unit is basically the same idea as the SP-122 but it uses rockets instead of artillery shells. The rocket launcher is mounted on a tracked unit and it is somewhat stronger than a towed-artillery unit, but is still weak against any attacking force. Rockets are good against tanks and infantry. (Cost: 10)

Infantry Unit: This is the basic combat soldiers of the army. This unit has no vehicles to use in combat, only trucks to bring them to and from battlefields, during a battle they fight on foot. They are armed with assault rifles, grenades and light-machineguns. Foot infantry are good against anything but tanks and mechanized infantry. Infantry are very good at defending. (Cost: 3)

YPR-765 Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit is basically an infantry unit but they ride and fight in YPR-765 infantry fighting vehicles. They are faster than a normal infantry unit and they are good against all vehicles and very good against enemy infantry. (Cost: 10)

Fahd 240-30 Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit is the same as the above unit but these troops ride in the cheaper, older and less armored Fahd 240-30 4x4 vehicle. (Cost: 6)

Al Walid Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit is the same as the above unit but these troops ride in the cheaper, older and less armored Al Walid 4x4 vehicle. (Cost: 4)

Paratrooper Infantry Unit: Paratrooper Infantry are the same as normal ‘Infantry Units’ but they can jump from C-130 transport planes to paradrop onto enemy units. Paratroopers have all the same advantages and disadvantages of normal infantry. (Cost: 10, can parajumps from C130 Transport Aircraft Units, can be carried in Commando Mk1 helicopter units)

Commando Unit: Commandos are elite special forces troops. They can do any of the missions listed under the ‘Special Forces’ rules in the INFO topic. (Cost: 14)

Crotale I1 Chaparral Anti-Aircraft Unit: The Crotale-I1 is a vehicle launched anti-aircraft missile. Chaparral is very good against all air units but bad against any land or naval unit. (Cost: 8)

Engineer Unit: Engineer units can greatly help offensive and defensive operations, a player should have engineer units with all of their major operations. Engineer units include trucks, bull-dozers, engineer-tanks and other specialized engineering vehicles. They can help build defenses and help clear enemy defenses. (Cost: 10)

Air Units:

F-16C Fighter/Attack Unit: The F-16C is an America design. It has advanced RADAR and carries good anti-aircraft weapons and it can carry anti-ground weapons. (Cost: 10)

Mirage-5SDD Fighter Unit: The Mirage-5SDD is a fast interceptor designed to attack enemy aircraft with its anti-aircraft missiles. (Cost: 8)

Mig-21A Fighter Unit: The Mig-21 is an older aircraft but the new Egyptian version has advanced electronics and anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 7)

FB-111 Strike Bomber Unit: The FB-111 is an American design. It can carry a bomb load, fast and far. It has no anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 13. can carry 1 ‘plane dropped nuclear weapons load’)

C-130 Air Transport Unit: The C-130 is a large transport aircraft. (Cost: 12, can carry 1 ground unit)

E-3 ‘Sentry’ AWACS Early Warning Aircraft Unit: The E-3 Sentry has a very powerful RADAR mounted on it. It can detect enemy aircraft from very far away. The E-3 has no weapons so it should probably be escorted by fighters. When a player has a Early Warning Aircraft Unit in a battle he gives his aircraft all a better chance of winning. (Cost: 20, can help friendly aircraft in a battle)

AH-1 ‘Cobra’ Attack Helicopter Unit: The AH-1 is less advanced than the AH-64D but it is reliable and good against ground units. It is poor against naval or air units. The AH-1W may be based on Super Carriers, Carriers, Helicopter Carriers and Landing Assault Ships. (Cost: 10, may be based on carriers, helicopter carriers and landing ships)

Commando Mk1 Assault Transport Helicopter Unit: The Commando Mk1 unit can carry 1 Airborne Infantry unit and the choppers have guns and rockets on them to support the troops once they land. The S-70 is not really good in anything other than landing Airborne Infantry Units and supporting them, it has no anti-aircraft or anti-ship weapons. (Cost: 8, each Commando Mk1 Unit can carry 1 Airborne Infantry Unit)

CH-47 ‘Chinook’ Heavy Helicopter Transport Unit: The Chinook Unit may carry 1 of any Infantry Unit. It has no weapons but can also operate off of ships. (Cost: 12, can carry 1 Infantry Unit of any type)

Aerial Recon Unit: This unit has scout helicopters and recon versions of the Mirage-5 to greatly assist battlefield intelligence. Having an aerial recon unit in your operations greatly increases your chance for success. (Cost: 10)

Naval Units:

’Mubarak’ Class Frigate: The Mubarak carries anti-ship and anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 15)

’Damyat’ Class Frigate: This ship carries advanced anti-submarine weapons and is a good sub hunter. (Cost: 12)

’El Suez’ Class Patrol Corvette: This ship carries light anti-aircraft and anti-ship weapons. It is for patrolling and defensive operations. (Cost: 10)

’Al Nassar’ Class Patrol Boat: This ship carries light anti-aircraft and limited anti-ship weapons. It is for defensive missions. (Cost: 8)

’Rabar’ Landing Ship: This ship has only limited anti-aircraft weapons but it can carry 1 ground unit. This ship is used for invading enemy beaches. (Cost: 12, can carry 1 ground unit)

Transport Ship: The Transport Ship is unarmed and has no armor. It can carry 2 ground units but only from one friendly harbor to another or to a beachhead that has been secured. (Cost: 16, carries 2 ground units)

Submarines:

’Romeo’ Class Diesel Powered Attack Submarine: The ‘Romeo’ Class uses diesel powered engines but it carries advanced anti-ship and anti-submarine weapons. (Cost: 12)

When ancient Rome was near defeat,
the invincible Tenth Legion was raised:
they beat the barbarians on the battlefield
and Rome gained peace with honour again.
When the traitor, on September the eighth,
left the fatherland in infamy,
the Tenth Flotilla was raised from the sea
and it brought weapons at the cry for honour!

Oh our Tenth Flotilla,
you that mocked England,
you victorious on Alexandria,
Malta, Souda and Gibraltar,
you already victorious upon the sea,
now even on the dry land
you will win!

To you Italian ships, stolen from us
not in battle but by treason,
and to you, our prisoners and dead brothers,
we swear:
we swear that we'll came back,
let this be God's and the Flag's will.
We swear that we'll fight
until we obtain an honourable peace!
