French Units

Ground Units:

Leclerc Tank Unit: The Leclerc is the main battle tank of the French Army. It has very good computer systems and gun control systems. Like all tanks it is best used against enemy ground units, tanks are bad against enemy air units. (Cost: 16)

AMX-30B2 Tank Unit: The AMX-30B2 is older and less effective as the Leclerc but it is still a good tank. (Cost: 12)

AMX-10RC Unit: The AMX-10RC is a 6 wheeled armored vehicle. The AMX-10RC is good against most ground units, it is quite good against enemy mechanized infantry. (Cost: 8)

Armored Recon Unit: This unit contains ERC 90 six-wheeled recon vehicles, and VBL 4x4 recon trucks. Having recon units in your attacks can increase your chances of victory. (Cost: 10, is a recon unit)

AMX-10P Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit is the same as normal infantry unit expect the troops ride and can fight in AMX-10P infantry fighting vehicles. Mechanized Infantry units are good against all units expect for air units. (Cost: 12)

VAB Mechanized Infantry Unit: This unit is the same as the above one expect these troops ride in the wheeled and less armored VAB 4x4 and 6x6 armored vehicles. Mechanized Infantry are good against all but air units. (Cost: 6)

Infantry Unit: This is the basic combat soldier unit of the army. This unit has no vehicles to use in combat, only trucks to bring them to and from battlefields, during a battle they fight on foot. They are armed with assault rifles, grenades and light-machineguns. Foot infantry are good against anything but tanks and mechanized infantry. Infantry are very good at defending. (Cost: 4)

Paratrooper Infantry Unit: Paratrooper Infantry are the same as normal ‘Infantry Units’ but they can jump from the C-160 transport planes to paradrop onto enemy units. Paratroopers have all the same advantages and disadvantages of normal infantry. (Cost: 10, can parajump from C-160 Transport Aircraft Units, can be carried in ‘Super Puma’ Assault Transport Helicopter Units)

Foreign Legion Infantry Unit: The French Foreign Legion is a very motivated infantry force. Foreign Legion infantry units aren’t different from normal Infantry Units but their dedication in battle is immense and they are a terror to their enemies. (Cost: 10)

Towed Artillery Unit: Towed artillery are the standard truck-towed howitzers that many of you are common with. They are good against any ground unit at long range but they defiently need to be protected as they are weak against any unit attacking them. (Cost: 4)

Autom Caesar Self-Propelled Artillery Unit: The Autom Caesar is a wheeled artillery system. It is new and has advanced fire-control. Artillery is good against most units at long range. (Cost: 6)

AUF-1 Self-Propelled Artillery Unit: The AUF-1 is a artillery gun mounted on an armored vehicle to make it travel faster and be protected. Artillery is good against any ground unit as long as it’s protected. (Cost: 8)

LRM MLRS Rocket Artillery Unit: This unit is basically the same idea as the AUF-1 but it uses rockets instead of artillery shells. The rocket launcher is mounted on a tracked unit and it is somewhat stronger than a towed-artillery unit, but is still weak against any attacking force. Rockets are good against tanks and infantry. (Cost: 10)

AMX-10P HOT Anti-Tank Unit: This unit’s main vehicle is the AMX-10P HOT vehicle, this is a modified AMX-10P infantry vehicle but with twin HOT anti-tank missile launchers mounted on its roof. This unit is very good against vehicles but bad against infantry and aircraft. (Cost: 9)

AMX-10 Roland Anti-Aircraft Missile Unit: The Roland is a anti-aircraft missile launched from a modified AMX-10P vehicle. This unit is very good against enemy aircraft and helicopters but weak against anything else. (Cost: 10)

VAB T-20 Anti-Aircraft Unit: This unit uses a converted VAB 6x6 vehicle with two 20mm anti-aircraft cannons mounted on the roof. This unit is very good against enemy helicopters and to a lesser extent, enemy aircraft but it is bad against enemy ground targets. (Cost: 5)

RPIM Commando Unit: The RPIM are France’s elite commandos. They can perform any of the missions listed under the ‘Special Forces Rules’ section of the INFO topic. (Cost: 14)

Engineer Unit: Engineer units can greatly help offensive and defensive operations, a player should have engineer units with all of their major operations. Engineer units include trucks, bull-dozers, engineer-tanks and other specialized engineering vehicles. They can help build defenses and help clear enemy defenses. (Cost: 10)

Mirage 2000 C Fighter Unit: The Mirage 2000 C is a air superiority fighter. It carries anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 12)

Mirage 2000 B Fighter Unit: The Mirage 2000 B is a air superiority fighter. It carries anti-aircraft weapons. The Mirage 2000 B is cheaper and less effective as the 2000 C. (Cost: 8)

Mirage 2000-5F Fighter Unit: The Mirage 2000-5F is an advanced new model of the ‘Mirage’ series. This new sleek fighter is very effective against enemy aircraft but lacks any anti-ground unit weapons. (Cost: 14)

Mirage 2000 D Attack Unit: The Mirage 2000 D is designed to fly low and fast into enemy areas to attack ground targets with laser guided bombs. It has no anti-air weapons but is very good against enemy ground targets. (Cost: 14)

Rafale M Naval Fighter/Attack Unit: The Rafale M is a carrier based fighter/attack unit. It is good against both land and air targets. (Cost: 15)

Rafale C Fighter/Attack Unit: The Rafale C is a fighter/attack unit. It is good against both land and air targets. The Rafale is the newest plane in the French Airforce. (Cost: 14)

Mirage F1 CT Attack/Fighter Unit: The Mirage F1 is an older aircraft than the Mirage 2000 but it still performs its anti-ground/anti-air role perfectly. (Cost: 9)

C-160 Transall Air Transport Unit: The C-160 is a transport aircraft. Each unit can carry 1 ground unit. They may also drop a Paratrooper Infantry unit over a landing zone. (Cost: 12, can carry 1 ground unit)

C-160G AWACS Early Warning Unit: The C-160G carries an advanced RADAR system in its cargo bay instead of cargo or troops. When a player has an Early Warning Unit in a battle he gives his aircraft all a better chance of winning. (Cost: 16, can help friendly aircraft in a battle)

’Atlantique’ Anti-Ship/Submarine Patrol Unit: The Atlantique is a special anti-ship and anti-submarine patrol plane. It can only attack enemy ships and submarines. (Cost: 12)

AS 332 ‘Super Puma’ Helicopter Assault Transport Unit: The Super Puma unit may carry 1 Paratrooper Infantry Unit each. The Super Puma’s only weapon is 2 door mounted machineguns. (Cost: 10, carries 1 Paratrooper Infantry Unit)

SA 342M ‘Gazelle’ Attack Helicopter Unit: The Gazelle is a small 2 person chopper that carries rockets and anti-tank missiles. The Gazelle is good against all ground units but weak against aircraft and anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 8)

SA 400 ‘Tiger’ Attack Helicopter Unit: The ‘Tiger’ is a new advanced anti-tank helicopter in the French inventory. It carries good anti-tank missiles and rockets. (Cost: 12)

SA 321 ’Super Frelon’ Naval Anti-Ship/Submarine Helicopter Unit: This version of the ‘Super Frelon’ carries anti-ship and anti-submarine weapons. It has no defense against enemy fighters. (Cost: 12, can be based on a carrier)

SA 321’Super Frelon’ Heavy Naval Transport Helicopter Unit: The Super Frelon Navy is an unarmed transport helicopter than can transport any Infantry unit. This helicopter unit can also operate from carriers and landing ships. (Cost: 12, can carry any infantry unit, can be based on carriers and landing ships)

Aerial Recon Unit: This unit has special Unmanned Aerial Vehicle scout planes and recon versions of the Mirage 2000 to greatly assist battlefield intelligence. Having an aerial recon unit in your operations greatly increases your chance for success. (Cost: 12)

C-135FR Air-Refueling Unit: This unit is a special unarmed aircraft that can refuel other aircraft mid-air. Each air-refueling unit can support up to 5 air units in a single strike/operation. They give these units unlimited range but the air-refueling unit must be in the air during the entire operation and it is vulnerable to enemy attack. (Cost: 20, is air-refueling unit)

’Charles De Gualle’ Class Nuclear Powered Carrier: This class of carrier has a nuclear powered reactor. These ships carry only limited anti-aircraft weapons and depend on their escorts or aircraft to defend them. (Cost: 45, may carry 2 Naval Aircraft or Naval Helicopter Units)

’Clemenceau’ Class Aircraft Carrier: The ‘Clemenceau isn’t powered by nuclear power but it is only slightly smaller than the newer ‘Charles De Gualle’. (Cost: 38, can carry 2 Naval Aircraft or 2 Naval Helicopter Units)

’Jeanne D’Arc’ Class Helicopter Carrier: The Jeanne D’Arc carries only helicopters. This ship is best used for anti-submarine warfare. (Cost: 25, carries 1 Naval Helicopter Unit)

’Cassard’ Class Destroyer: The Cassard carries anti-ship and anti-aircraft weapons. It is a good multi-purpose fleet ship. (Cost: 24)

’Georges Leygues’ Class Destroyer: The Georges Leygues carries good anti-ship and anti-aircraft weapons. It is a good multi-purpose fleet ship and can deal with most enemy surface ships. (Cost: 28)

’Suffren’ Class Destroyer: The Suffren carries good anti-aircraft weapons but lesser anti-ship systems. It is best used to defend a carrier from air attack. (Cost: 30)

’Tourville’ Class Destroyer: The Tourville Class is designed to hunt enemy submarines, it has substantial anti-submarine weapons. (Cost: 28)

‘Lafayette Class Frigate: The Lafayette is a very modern multi-purpose frigate. (Cost: 22)

’D’Estienne D’Orves’ Class Frigate: This frigate is older than the Lafayette but still has good anti-ship and anti-submarine capability. (Cost: 16)

’Floreal’ Class Frigate: The Floreal is a good anti-aircraft ship. It lacks any anti-submarine weapons. (Cost: 18)

’P 400’ Class Patrol Boat: The P 400 is a fast patrol boat that mounts anti-ship weapons. (Cost: 12)

’Foudre’ Class Landing Ship: The Foudre Class ship can carry 1 ground unit and 1 Naval Helicopter Unit. It can also defend itself with light anti-aircraft weapons. (Cost: 28, carries 1 ground unit and 1 Naval Helicopter Unit)

’Bougainville’ Class Landing Ship: The Bougainville carries only 1 ground unit for invasions. It has no weapons. (Cost: 20, carries 1 ground unit)

Transport Ship: The Transport Ship is unarmed and has no armor. It can carry 2 ground units but only from one friendly harbor to another or to a beachhead that has been secured. (Cost: 16, carries 2 ground units)

’Amethyste’ Class Nuclear Powered Attack Submarine: The Amethyste carries torpedoes and missiles to attack enemy submarines and ships with. It has advanced electronics. (Cost: 26)

FRENCH INVASION OF MONACO

The French are welcomed into Monaco with grudging acceptance. There is no resistance, two soldiers get drunk in a casino, loose all their money, cause a fight and are dishonourably discharged from the army. One general trips on some onions and sprains his ankle.
