America invades El Salvador

Units:
(to save space):
http://horizonforums.com/classy/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=84;t=000007

Aerial recon flies ahead to locate targets.

El salavdor is a heavily moutanious country and most of the fighting will be done on foot and in the air.

Before the main invasion, the american cruiser and sub send tomahawk cruise missles raining down on san salvador as the B-1B Lancer and escorting harriers make bombing runs from guatemala to san salvador, and all the cities in between, after which the B-1B puts down in base and the harriers provide air support for the ground troops.

After the cities are reduced to dust, ground troops enter el salvador. Recon units are ahead of the main army then...Army infantry first, with armored units behind, flanked by marine units, spread out in the rocks and forests to watch for ambushes and hazardous terrain. Artillery follows, mixed in witht the tanks and mech inf. The army and most of the armored units continue to Santa Anna, but the artillery, remaining armor, and marines stop early to unload on the unsuspecting citizens. Within 5 minutes after the artillery fire stops, infantry and tanks swarm the city. The same tactics are used on Ciudad Arce and Quezalpeque. San Salvador, already destroyerd by bombers and the naval assault, is taken as the whole ground force rolls end after a complmentary halo of artillery fire.

8 x Fahd 240-30 Mechanized Infantry Unit

Attack Group - Bravo:
5 x M1A1 Abram’s Tank units
1 x YPR-765 Anti-Tank Unit

Special Forces - DQ Brigade:
1 x Commando Unit

3 x Mirage-5SDD Fighter Unit

2nd Egyptian Air force Squadron:
2 x F-16C Fighter/Attack Unit

3rd Egyptian Air force Squadron:
2 x F-16C Fighter/Attack Unit

Phase One:

Initially the 2nd Egyptian Air force Squadron will make preliminary strikes into northern Sudan striking any command and control structures, in a hope of making a communications blackout from the north, delaying and response from the capital and increasing Sudanese confusion. The 1st Egyptian Air force Squadron will then begin to enter northern Sudan and begin patrols for any enemy aircraft that might have been sent. The 3rd Egyptian Air force Squadron will begin striking any army vehicles in northern Sudan

Phase Two:
Spearheaded by Attack Group – Alpha, flanked by Bravo and Charlie the main ground assault then enters Sudan, with an aim of speeding across the flat featureless plains of Sudan, which to the north is sparsely inhabited. Their aim is to head straight for the capital, while there is still confusion from the initial air assaults. This thrust will be supported by full air cover from the air force.

Phase Three:
While the assault on the capital Khartoum is taking place the DQ brigade, special forces will enter the town and try to stop the Sudan’s leaders from leaving, killing them ruthlessly on sight.

Phase Four:
Once the capital is taken, roaming patrols of land forces will neutralise any remaining pockets of resistance, supported by Egyptian air force.
